Four of Labour's candidates for the European elections were in Twickenham to meet voters on Saturday.

The prospective MEPs spoke to local residents about the forthcoming European elections at a street stall on King Street.

They were joined by Nick Grant, Labour's parliamentary candidate for Twickenham, and local party members.

The prospective MEPs who visited were Claude Moraes, who has been a Labour MEP for London since 1999, and fellow candidates Sanchia Alasia, Ivana Bartoletti and Seb Dance.

The European elections are due to take place on 22nd May 2014 alongside the local elections.

Nick Grant said: "Labour's European election candidates got a very warm reception in Twickenham.

"Labour is the only party capable of defending Britain's interests in Europe. David Cameron is held hostage by his own backbenchers and the Lib Dems have lost people's trust and confidence".
