Labour urges action on congested junction

Local residents have expressed concerns over congestion and road safety on the junction of Hospital Bridge Road, Percy Road and Powder Mill Lane.

Drivers are forced to queue for long periods of time as a result of the narrow carriageway, the extended pedestrian island and sequencing of traffic lights.

Rhonda Evans said: "We are calling on the Council and TfL to urgently draw up plans to reduce congestion and ease the flow of traffic through this junction."

Rob Newbery said: "Road safety is also an issue and we will scrutinise future proposals for any safety concerns."
