Meet Sadiq Khan, your London Mayoral candidate

The Labour candidate for London Mayor in 2016 will be Tooting MP Sadiq Khan.

Sadiq’s story is the best of London. The son of a bus driver and a seamstress, he studied and became a lawyer, an MP and eventually the first ever Muslim and first Asian to attend cabinet. You can find out more about Sadiq ad his vision for London here:

At our recent party conference, Sadiq outlined his key priorities for London to give all Londoners the same opportunities that our city gave him:

  • Fixing the housing crisis and building more affordable homes to rent and buy.

  • Tackling our air pollution that is killing 10,000 Londoners every year.

  • Being the most pro-business Mayor ever, helping create jobs and wealth.

  • Giving Londoners the skills they need to get the jobs of the future.

  • Building a modern transport system – but a transport system that Londoners can actually afford to use.

  • Defending our membership of the European Union – good for London’s workers, good for London’s businesses.

  • Ensuring all workers are paid a wage they can survive on – not George Osborne’s phony version but a real living wage.

The campaign in Twickenham to get him elected starts now, and we would love to have your support. If you would like to help support our campaign to get a Labour Mayor back in City Hall please get in touch.
