Twickenham Labour candidate Nick Grant has spoken out in response to a report from the independent heath think tank the King’s Fund which condemns the coalition government’s reforms to the NHS.
The report describes the Tory-led government’s top-down reorganisation of the NHS as “distracting and damaging” creating "complex and confusing" new bureaucratic structures.
Recent figures confirm the level of crisis in the NHS with waiting lists at their highest level for six years and one in four patients waiting a week or more to see their GP.
Nick said: “This report gives a damning verdict on the coalition’s health reforms which were supported by Vince Cable despite being opposed by patients, nurses, doctors and midwives in their thousands.
“A Labour government will repeal the Health and Social Care Act and will invest in and improve our NHS, with more doctors and nurses, so that it has time to care for you and your family.”
