Three Shadow Labour ministers are due to visit Twickenham in March.
John McDonnell Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer and MP for Hayes and Harlington will be visiting Heathfied Junior School on Thursday March 1st. He will be speaking about the economy and how Labour will end austerity policies and instead invest in jobs and industries to reverse Britain's economic decline. He will no doubt discuss how marketisation of public services has led to cuts in services and to financial disasters such as the recent Carillion collapse.
On Tuesday March 6th Debbie Abrahams, the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, will address members and supporters in the meeting room of the Turks Head Twickenham to discuss her current role leading the fight against Government benefits cuts and its ill-conceived roll out of Universal Credit, which is causing hardship to thousands of disabled people, many living in Twickenham.
On Thursday 15th March, a week after International Women's Day, Sharon Hogson MP, Shadow Minister for Public Health will be speaking to Labour Members and guests at Hampton Hill Theatre, Hampton.
She will be discussing women's position in society, in particular discussing violence against women, intimidation and sexual harassment.
The Twickenham Labour Party Womens Group invite men and women to attend and debate the nature of this violence and abuse, and how it needs to be addressed.
