Twickenham Labour on the march for fair pay

Members of Twickenham Labour Party joined tens of thousands of people marching at the TUC ‘Britain needs a pay rise’ demonstration in central London on Saturday 18 October.

The demonstration was held to highlight the fact that people are facing the biggest squeeze on incomes since Victorian times. TUC figures show that average wages have fallen by £50 a week in real terms since 2008, while five million people earn less than the living wage.

Party members were joined on the march by Labour’s shadow justice secretary Sadiq Khan (pictured).
