Twickenham Labour Party thanks voters for turning out to support the party in the recent local and European elections.
Nick Grant, Labour's parliamentary candidate for Twickenham, said:
Twickenham Labour Party thanks the many thousands of Twickenham and Richmond voters who placed their confidence and trust in Labour in the recent local elections.
While obviously disappointed not to have any Labour representatives elected to the Council, Labour obtained its best overall result in the past twenty years.
A close examination of these results shows that Labour is steadily regaining ground, whereas the LibDems are running scared and on the slide.
They lost this time in neighbouring Kingston and recorded their worst score in recent memory in Twickenham, and have patently lost the people's trust.
Labour serves notice on Vince Cable that the campaign starts now to expose his complicity in the failures of the current Tory-led Government and to promote fairness, jobs and decent prospects for young people in Twickenham and in the country at large.
