Twickenham Members join demo for Living wage

Twickenham Labour Party members joined GMB workers  who demonstrated at York house on Wed March 22nd to demand that Richmond Council do not give contracts to businesses that refuse to pay the London Living wage, at present £9.75 an hour.

Jenny Churchill commented

“If we want to see a healthy local economy, much needed workers need to be paid a wage they can live on.  The Council should be setting standards and leading the way. It  should ensure that such workers were paid fairly by insisting any Council contracts were only issued to employers who paid the London Living wage.”
