Twickenham Labour Party Women’s Section calls on the government to stop telling women to stay at home. Amend the DV bill and make misogyny a crime.

This Monday members of the House of Lords have the opportunity to vote for Amendment 87B to the Domestic Abuse Bill which would require all police forces to record where crimes are motivated by hatred of women. Rather than telling women not to worry about violence or that they should stay home at night if they want to be safe, it’s time to send a message that women should be equally able to live free from fear of assault or harm from those who target them simply for who they are.

Please write to/email Twickenham’s MP  munira.wilson.mp@parliament.uk and ask her to support making misogyny a hate crime by encouraging Peers to support amendment 87B to the Domestic Abuse Bill.
