Candice Atterton on the housing crisis facing Londoners
Candice Atterton on the housing crisis facing Londoners
Private renters spend 40 per cent of their income on rent. This has gone up £2,000 every year for five years. In Kingston, Richmond and Hounslow over 160,000 residents rent privately, spending between £1300 and £2000 each month.
This is why I’m working with Sadiq Khan to introduce rent controls. Capping rents would help ease the financial burden on renters, who’ve been hit hard by the COVID pandemic.
As your Assembly Member for South West London, I’ll tackle the housing crisis, fight for more affordable housing and better support to help people get off the streets and into secure accommodation.

Vote for Candice Atterton for GLA assembly member for South West London in the elections on Thursday 6th May 2021.  Vote for someone who cares about the housing issues facing Londoners.
